Castile Soap

Castile soap originated in Castile, Spain, as a vegan alternative to traditional animal-fat soaps Using instead vegetable oils, traditionally olive oil,  this creates a pure, non-toxic, and biodegradable soap free from animal products or synthetic petroleum surfactants.

During this process, a natural chemical reaction creates both soap and glycerine. Unlike commercial animal-fat soaps where the glycerine is siphoned off, Castile soap retains its natural glycerine in the final blend. This gives Castile soap its exceptionally gentle, moisturizing effect on the skin.
